In beautiful mountains of almonds, olives and vines yet only 15 minutes from the sea. Spectacular terrace views 2,500ft down the steep sides of the valley to the Mediterranean 6 miles away. In delightful unspoilt village with shop, bakeries, bar, mules and goats.

Travel and Distances

A car is essential at Rubite. Rubite is in the Contraviesa on the edge of the Alpujarras yet within easy reach of the Costa Tropical. The Alpujarras is a beautiful region of mountains and valleys of almonds, olives and vines. The drive to Orgiva, the nearest Alpujarran town is a delight. Go on Thursday for market day. There are the white villages of the Alpujarras - Pampaniera, Bubion, Trevelez, etc. There are many small seaside towns to visit including Salobrena with its superb Moorish fortress dominating the hill. Further afield there is the Cabo de Gata with its astonishing bleached landscape where the Spaghetti westerns were made. And there is also, of course, Granada, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and home of the magnificent Alhambra.
