The valley is on the edge of the Sierra Nevada national park and was described by The Independent as one of the loveliest in Spain. Both Granada with its squares and fountains and famous Alhambra Palace and the beaches of the Costa Tropical can be reached in half an hour. The ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada and the high mountains of the Alpujarra are also less than an hour away.
